We didn´t expect it but food was served on the plane. It was quite good to be honest and we were thrilled since Air China offered a vegetarian dish even though we hadn´t ordered it in advance. That would never happen in Europe or anywhere else in the world. Oh, and another thing that I found pretty nifty - in China the airline actually will deliver the ticket to your door free of charge. For f-r-e-e.
