The Grand Canyon.
The Grand Canyon is a special area to fly in as there are tons of rules to adhere to. Simply put - you don't just go flying wherever you want as this after all is a national park. Add to this accidents happening around here every once and a while when pilots with a bad sense of limits and common sense try to go too far down in the canyons.
It was super windy on my day out and I decided to keep a safe distance to the ground, not the least to have enough time to figure out a proper landing spot should something have happened.
The view was gorgeous and I decided to fly all the way over to the Grand Canyon National Park Airport, on the southeastern tip of the park. Enjoyed a beautiful landing at this quite busy airport before being directed south west for my trip back to San Diego.
