Catalina Island, CA.
The airport is entirely private and charge a rather hefty landing fee of 25 dollars. I consider this expensive given that the condition of the runway is far from top notch with plenty of potholes, loose gravel and other debris lying around.
Technically the airport isn't controlled meaning that communications is supposed to be taken care off between pilots themselves. However, there is a control tower with a person inside giving advice that everyone seemed to follow during my stay, which was a good thing since another guy almost lined up during my final approach at one point.
