The Gutenberg Bible

The single coolest thing about the Library of Congress is the copy of the Gutenberg Bible that's on public display. Johannes Gutenberg invented the mechanical movable type printer which completely revolutionised the way books were made. His most famous work is the Gutenberg Bible which was printed in the 1450´s in what is now modern day Germany. Today only 48 copies exist, one of them owned by the Library of Congress in Washington DC.
