"Not a T-Rex"

After having been treated like royalty down in San Diego I flew up to Portland for my next stop on this two week adventure across the States. Why Portland? Well, I like to visit new places and Portland has a good ring to its name.

Portland also happened to be the city where I first couchsurfed. But more about that later, I just need to explain why my first picture from the capital of Oregon is of a dinosaur. Well, looking for stuff to do in a city where the rain immediately came pouring down the minute I stepped out of the house during my first morning there wasn´t easy. I have a thing for science museums and Portland has one of those - The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Asking the waitress at the diner where I had breakfast about it ended in her giving me a three minute lecture on how cool the place was.

Yeah, if you´re like five years old.

So it turns out even people from Portland can be wrong. Compared to other similar places where I´ve been this was clearly very much angled at kids. I checked out their "IMAX-but-still-not-IMAX" theatre which was pretty cool.

And what about the dinosaur? Well, the only thing I remember about it was that the sign below stated that it wasn´t a T-Rex. Stillall the kids who passed instinctively stopped, pointed at the thing and yelled "T-REX".

Stupid kids.
