Great Court Shadows

It's been a little while since I posted a photo, I've been busy editing wedding photos (which aren't that great TBH), anyway hopefully I'll have something to add at some point during the week and I'll catch with your streams then :-)

An instantly recognisable location to many of you and one that’s been photographed a million times, so there’s not much point in trying to re-invent the wheel. Fellow Flickr contact (Baggers2012) pointed out to me that if you go to the British Museum during mid-June at around midday the concourse of the museum would be covered in those marvellous criss-cross shadows…….. Thanks for the tip Paul!

I had planned on taking this next week but with the weather in the UK a little hit and miss I thought that I grab a shot on the way to work yesterday as the sun was shining; this was a little off the cuff and I only had my fisheye on the camera, I would like to have gone with a square crop but I would really have needed my 10-22 for that version (the symmetry of the shadows is a little off but there’s not much that I could have done about that….. other than wait for the sun to move ;-))

So instead of the square crop I thought that I’d use the slightly ornate surround to frame the image. Again this is another one that I’m not too sure about, I’m thinking that I may have over done the B&W processing so I’d be grateful if you could give me your opinions :-)

I won’t be on Flickr until some point next week as I’m off to Stockholm to photograph a friend’s wedding (I’m just a tad nervous about that)…… it’s only a flying visit but I do hope to get out for some photography of my own so if any of you could offer some tips for locations it would be very much appreciated!

If I don’t catch up with your streams today, I’ll get onto it next week.

***Parrish (Skidzey) noticed some a tilt in the picture and he was bang on, this has now been corrected. I have decided to leave the processing as is, I'm still not 100% sure but oh well***
