Endlich habe ich es geschafft eines meiner Lieblingsfotos aus der Nicht-digitalen-Zeit zu digitalisieren.
Lieblingsfoto, weil manchmal einfach nur der Moment zählt. Einen Moment, den man nicht nachstellen oder wiederholen kann, der aber immer bleibt: Ausgewogen, stimmungsvoll.
Aufgenommen 2002 in Myanmar (Burma/Birma), in einer Zeit der Militärdiktatur, während dem Hausarrest von Aung San Suu Kyi. Die Militärdiktatur herrscht auch heute noch immer dort, aber das Land ist aus der völligen Isolation erwacht und Aung San Suu Kyi zumindest nach 15 Jahren aus dem Hausarrest entlassen. Ich habe es kennengelernt als Land des Lächelns, was tiefe Eindrücke hinterlassen hat. Es ist ein faszinierendes und geheimnisvolles Land mit einer liebenswürdigen Bevölkerung.
Ich erinnere mich immer an dieses Land, wenn in Deutschland Demokratiemüdigkeit einsetzt (geringe Wahlbeteiligung). Wir haben Demokratie und wissen es viel zu wenig zu schätzen.

Burma, Birma or Myanmar as it is called by the Military Junta, is a country where magnificent and ancient Buddhist temples gaze out serenely over a nation restless for change. Burma has plenty of wonders for the eye--sinuous, life-giving rivers, lush mountain forests, and intricately-drawn cities--but it can also trouble the soul. For the last 30 years, its people have been ruled by a notoriously repressive military government, the tatmadaw. But I never see so many people smiling and laughing. Its a wonderful country with wonderful people.
I always remember this country when using democracy fatigue in Germany. We have democracy and don´t appreciate it.
