Classic Velo

A classic bicycle I saw one fine morning in the streets of Kuala Lumpur. It was in immaculate condition for it's age. I particularly love the saddle. Looks like a Brooks, but I can't be sure.

As a side note, this past Sunday, I started off my day by waking up at 3.50am. Why did I wake up at such an insane hour on a weekend?

Here's why.

I'm thankful because I had a chance to go for the Putrajaya 'Health' Ride with my mom & dad. Both of them are close to 60 years old now, and at 50+ something, I think they're both much fitter than I am :)

Flag off was at 7.30am, with around 180-200 cyclists taking part in the event. It started off easy, but as we came close to the 10km mark, it started feeling like I was in hell. Hills, I'm talking about those darn hills! My initial impression and (false) presumption that Putrajaya has a generally flat terrain couldn't be further from the truth. From my Cyclemeter app, I saw that I climbed 288m that day.

In the end, I didn't complete the course. Only managed to do 20km out of 50km due to leg cramps. Haha.

Well, try and try again.

Check out my route and pitiful performance here.

Vive le velorution!
