shot at night in low light using portrait mode, auto curved in ps.

 

The portait mode in NEX5 curiously leaves quite a bit room at the highlight end of histogram, presumablly for reducing facial contrast??)

 

after auto curve, the colors look pretty true to life despite shot at night.
