Dan Busta

This is Duc from the Vietnam National Opera & Ballet. I photographed him in Hanoi on the second day of our trip. Previous to leaving America I had the foresight of setting up a fixer to help gain access to interesting portraits. One of the many ideas my crew (noipictures.com/) had was the National Ballet practice space. So we planned on that for the first of four locations that day. We met early, had a Cafe Su Da and made our war to the drab and dirty arts building the national Ballet called home. I found some amazing french doors were the members would take their cigarette breaks and set up for that. Again pushing 15th of a second I began to make portraits. I first called over some of the girls and then finally settled on this man. I love his form and obvious vietnamese character. He was the best based on the contrast of his body and shorts against the architecture behind. I could have shot there all day, but we had a schedule to maintain. Off to the next location after just 4 rolls.
