Belfort's Horizontal Fountains

These spectacular. high-pressure "horizontal fountains" are on the Savoureuse River, in the city of Belfort, France. As shown, they are located where the river runs past Le Granit Scène Nationale, a theatre and hall for concerts and other events.

PECULIARLY...I cannot find, via a Google Search, any mention of the fountains in any articles about either the city of Belfort, or the theatre or the Savoureuse River. Also, I could not find any similar images via a Google Image Search.

We were only there once. As shown, the late morning in October sun did a fine job of lighting the fountain sprays. I have no idea when--or if--the fountains are activated on a regular basis.

NB - The high f-stop I used, f/22, put everything more or less in focus, from the foreground railing to the street in the background. This was in spite of shooting at a moderate telephoto focal length (55m = FF ca. 82.5 mm).

Location: Savoureuse River, Belfort, Region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France.

In my album: Dan's Water World.
