This past year, after years of disuse, some folks have reactivated a little garden and its ancient garden house up the street from us, where the local countryside begins. They proudly display the Swiss flag at all times.
Recently, I heard some clucking coming from inside the garden house as I walked by. I realized the gardeners are also ultra-small-scale chicken ranchers. I don't know either how warm you have to keep chickens in winter or how the "ranchers" are doing the heating--if some is needed. As always, life and people are mysteries.
