Autumn Kaleidoscope
Lucky with the light. Not a bad result, I think, for a photo taken with my ancient iPhone 4S, looking down on a bush.
What produced these colors? Well, we have had some freezing November nights, but very little wind or rain. In summer and fall, the blossom clusters on this shrub are a slightly greenish white. How nice that they then hang around and turn fuchsia (at first pale and then darker) instead of just withering away.
The bush is some kind of hydrangea (German: Hortensie). Gardners have created a huge number of types. This one might be "annabelle."
Location: Landscaped area surrounding a small apartment building. Riehen BS Switzerland.
In my album: Dan's Swiss Autumns.
