The Villa was built for Pope Julius III, started in 1551 and completed around 1553, as a place to relax at and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Today the villa houses the National Etruscan Museum. And you are not actually allowed to enter through this door. But no one said I couldn't look!
