Saint Roch and Saint Sebastian

The good thing about pictures of saints are that they are generally rather easy to identify, because they generally are adorned with specific attributes. In this case we have mural depictions of Saint Roch, with his wounded thigh and a dog offering bread, to the left, and Saint Sebastian, tied to a tree, with a body full of arrows, to the right. And note the work that has gone into adorning with wooden beams themselves. They are worn by now, being several hundred years old, but you can still see quite a lot of the original patterns and paint.
In the medieval church of Saint Etienne in Perriers-sur-Andelle (a very small, but charming place - where we ended up because our GPS wasn't our friend. Sometimes mistakes can be well worth your time). The church was founded in the 11th century, with some architectural details added in the 14th century. The paintings, like these ones, and many of the statues date to the 16th century (and there was some additional work done in the 19th century too).
