Flowers being arranged in the Great Hall at Blenheim palace - a rather magnificent room with more than 20 metres from floor to ceiling.
Blenheim palace (the only palace in England not belonging to the royal family or the church) was begun in 1705 and finished around 1722, for the first duke of Marlborough by the architect Sir John Vanbrugh. The name Blenheim comes from the Battle of Blenheim (which happened in Bavaria, Germany in 1704). The whole place is built in English Baroque - a rather short-lived architectural style, Baroque was never big in England.
