Virginia Stands Tall

Virginia Rail (Rallus limicola) - Peacock's Pocket Road, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Wilson, Florida

Virginia steps out from behind the curtain,

stands tall and gives me the

one foot forward/slant-hipped profile pose.

Gotta admit, it does make her look thin!

It was 6:00 PM and the sun was behind a cloud as it set over the far bank. And since light was so hard to come by, I opened wide, cranked up the ISO, and did the best I could with what I had.

And I have-ta say, the 5Dsr AF works wonders in low light!
