Getting the Jump

American Red Squirrel (a.k.a. Pine Squirrel, Piney Squirrel, Chickaree, Boomer, or simply Red Squirrel; Tamiasciurus hudsonicus gymnicus) - Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, 132 Botanical Gardens Drive, Boothbay, Maine

 

I was done for the day and about to seat-belt my camera in the back seat when this guy (15 feet from the parked car) started it's little Chickaree song and demanded I set up the tripod and take its picture.

And here I captured it about to get the jump on lunch.
