The Soul
This is the best painting I think I've ever done. It is my personal favorite and it is also the most important one I have. I use a piece of it for my icon. In 2001 my long term partner, constant companion and soulmate passed away from cancer. I painted this in one sitting, within 48 hours of his death. It just spilled off my hands, and when it was done I knew it, and set down the brush.
That's why I call it "The Soul."
It's fairly big life size. I had to scan it in parts and carefully piece them together in Photoshop. Unfortunately some of the seams are still visible. The original is framed and hangs in my house.
