Maples on Duke Parkway. This is the Duke Estate (the founder of Duke University, the father of Doris Duke). The grounds were laid out by the man who made NYC's Central Park - Frederick Law Olmsted. This used to include the Duke Gardens, but they have been or are about to be razed after 80 - 90 years of existence. The grounds are mostly closed to the public, but driving along the roads through the grounds, one can get a glimpse of the spectacular natural setting.
