Stargate
second in my museum series
This is Pharoah Khufu's funerary barge that carried his body down the river and was placed in the pyramid he had built at Giza circa 2500 BC.
There is a theory that the 3 pyramids at Giza aligned with the constellation of Orion which in Egyptian times was called Osiris, after the god who was murdered by his brother Seth and later resurrected. It was Osiris who weighed the hearts of the dead.
At a certain time the starlight would penetrate the mysterious narrow passage through the pyramid into the burial chamber and thus the Pharoah would be launched into those heavenly coordinates.
oh great Pharoah, beloved of Maat, Horus of Gold, Son of Ra
May you live forever in the stars
I used my own papyrus of the sky goddess Nut and an astronomy of the day pic as background.
