THIS IS NOT AN ARCHIVE! I repete, this is NOT an archive! I am VERY happy to say that I was able to, with minimal pain, go out to my second home, La Jolla today! Ok, so there was a SMALL amount of pain. Here is what I did:

I took out the Canon 40D and left the heavy, with battery grip, 7D at home. Smart move! Then, I left the heavy gear, which I did last time too. I had only a camera, one lens and my shoulder bag, goes over the left shoulder. Important to note because the surgery was on the right shoulder. I had the small bag with filters and thats all! Well, a cleaning cloth and cable release, but I cannot shoot like this with out those.

And the second reason why this was not at all a bad trip, I stayed OFF of the wet, slick, and dangerous rocks. I stayed on level ground, with minimal walking. I have to say, I needed this trip! I needed to feel like a photographer again! Even if it might be another week before I have the strength to do this again, I needed to feel the high of splashing waves below the cliffs. I needed this like I need breath in my body!

And thank you to every one who had to put up with a while of archives, never fear, more archives tomorrow, I wont be able to do this every day! But perhaps once a week to the end of the year? I pray I can keep that up at least!

And now, for the geek talk: For this image, I used two ND filters. I used the B+W ND106 filter and the ND8, made by who ever, I forgot, but its a 3 stop filter. A total blockage of 9 stops of light. A perfect combo to keep form on the waves and yet get the movement of the water, PLEASE< enjoy!
