Ok, I am going to start off by saying, I do not point out other peoples work because I want to be like them or because I think I am not good enough! Lets just get that out of the way now! I point out others because I value there work a great deal and because of that, I learn from them. I see what they are doing and I try to do it myself! No, the work will not BE the same, and thats perfect! As it should be! Now that I have said that, lets get to my story!

On March 11th, one of my flickr contacts posted the most amazing light house picture. Aaron Reed is a contact of mine because of how amazing I think his work is, and so I keep track of what he does so that I can learn from him. The quality he puts out is simply amazing! When I saw this image, of his lighthouse, I thought to myself, "Oh, we have a light house in San Diego!" Just about that time, I knew for the image to work, I needed a nice ND filter, none of that pink hue stuff for this! When I got my ND110 in the mail I was ready to go! I can go get that picture of the light house! Not so fast, your wide lens is busted! Take that into the shop. Three LONG weeks later, I got my lens back and today, we had clouds and I had an early day off of work today! Hurayyyy, IM OFF! I got my son from my moms and we headed off to Cabrillo National Monument, in the most beautiful town of Point Loma. What impressed me the most about Aaron's light house image was how it POPed off the page! It just stood out from the clouds and made me so desperate to learn how to do that! I know I am not Aaron, but I hope my image says GAIL all over it. And I hope it POP's off the page for you, like his did for me. And thats pretty much all I have to say about that! But please check out Aaron's page, he is a master at what he does and an inspiration to me and I am sure MANY others!
