A beautiful sunset in San Diego tonight. I almost wish I had caught last night and the night before, the clouds were better. This is the tail end of a storm that San Diego had gotten this week. The tail end meaning that all the beautiful FULL and white clouds were out east and of course, the sunset is out west. But the left overs were still beautiful!

I chose another slightly panoramic crop due to the lack of visual interest above the crop line. Just as I had done a few days ago. But what I was really going after for the night was a reflection of color, a first in a long time for me! Usually when there is beautiful clouds and color in the sky, the tide is too high for standing water. When I saw these rocks off in the distance, I knew I had to hit them for sunset. The fun part was, after the sunset, the tide started to pick up and at one point I was surrounded by water! And that image that I was taking at the time is no usable because the water had enough power to shake my tripod. Because I was on solid rock and not sand, I was not able to anchor my tripod for that! But I sure did hold on for dear life! My man and my 4 year old were above the cliff watching me, they saw it all! SO grateful for those boots that are quite ugly! :)
