Waqrapukara
Waqrapukara , which in Quechua means "Fortress of the Caves", is an impressive Inca archaeological site located in the province of Acomayo, Cusco. It is built on a rock formation shaped like caves, at more than 4,300 m s. n. m., and offers spectacular views of the Apurímac river cañón.
Formerly it was a ceremonial center and possibly a strategic fortress. It combines Inca architecture with the natural landscape, highlighting trees, enclosures and perfectly framed walls.
