Adventure Photographer Jon Beard demonstrates the first Law of Photography- In order to take interesting pictures, stand in front of interesting things. To get this shot it was necessary to wade across four branches of this raging river, in freezing water past the knee, in the dark, carrying a flashlight, a tripod and a pack full of camera gear. Jon did it barefoot ( it was only 34 degrees f). But this shot is totally worth it!
