I Love Flickr Day - January 5, 2014
While this protest is probably even less effective than last month's, I'm joining to show solidarity with the many disgruntled flickr users who have suffered through 2013 with these "less than stellar" site changes. Flickr's new "photo experience" is garbage IMO. In today's modern world of web site design, one would think that flickr could give its users major choice in the way they view and display images rather than continuing to force one size fits all solutions. Opinions are far too diverse to please large audiences with just a single viewing method.
Other web sites (including my.yahoo.com) allow us to customize our view of things, why not flickr?
Why must we be forced to accept what someone else considers to be "the best view"?
Personally, I want to see the titles, descriptions, maps, comments, and shooting information just as much as I do the photos. I don't expect everyone else to feel that same way, but why should they have to?
Why can't everyone be able to build his/her own view?
Why can't group admins be able to do the same?
Why is it that freedom of choice is such a hard concept to grasp?
