Nesting red-tail

There has been either red-tails or great horned owls at this nest site for several years. This year the red-tails won. However, not more than 100 feet away another nest is occupies by the great horned owls. I've never known top birds of prey to tolerate each others presence so close in proximity. When eggs hatch I wonder if they will become prey to the other species? I guess time will tell and I'll have to keep an eye on them. Nez Perce county, Idaho
