Washington/Wabash Opening Day

The new Washington/Wabash station is open! Boasting a sleek, modern design, this new structure marks the first elevated rail station to be built downtown in twenty years. An accessible station on the east leg of the Loop 'L' with convenient access to Millennium Park, the new Washington/Wabash station features the latest amenities including real-time train arrival displays, energy-efficient LED lighting and wider platforms to reduce overcrowding and provide easier movement throughout. Featuring a unique canopy that reflects its Jeweler’s Row home and located just steps away from a variety of shopping and dining options, the new Washington/Wabash station will become a gateway for Millennium Park as well as the millions of tourists and residents who travel to the Loop each year. Here are some pictures from this morning, including of the first trains to stop at the station! www.transitchicago.com/news/default.aspx?Month=&Year=...
