Japanese Pop Music CDs
When I first started learning Japanese back in 2008, one of the things I
started to like was Japanese popular music from the 1980s and 1990s. Some
of my favorite singers are female J-Pop Idols from those time periods,
which include Yoko Minamino, Hiroko Yakushimaru, Yui Asaka, Yuki Saito,
Miho Nakayama and others. While in Japan, I decided to buy some more J-Pop
CDs from those eras. The ones you see here are Tomomi Nishimura, Seiko
Matsuda, Yu Hayami, and the female duo Wink. Seiko Matsuda is actually
considered the most successful J-Pop Idol of all-time in Japan and has been
given the term "eternal idol" because she holds the record of singles that
reached number one. I really like listening to all of the female J-Pop
Idols of these times. I don't always know what they are saying, but it has
helped with improving my pronunciation and it helps with increasing my
vocabulary, because I tend to translate the songs to find out what the
singers are singing about. Listening to music in your target language is
one way to improve your language skills and have fun at the same time.
