Clint Hurdle acknowledges the crowd at PNC Park after the final home game of his inaugural season as Pirates skipper.
Hurdle admitted he was caught by surprise — and also deeply touched — on Sunday when fans at PNC Park gave him a spontaneous standing ovation in the seventh inning.
"As I told my folks, if there was any part of me that wasn't in, after that seventh inning it was all in," Hurdle said. "How can you not live where you work when the fans show that kind of appreciation?"
