Excursion - Art Walk of Qaqortoq (Man and Stone) - Pictures of Qaqortoq, Greenland - September 22nd, 2023 - Jewel of the Seas 14 Night Cruise to Greenland

Pictures during our day in Qaqortoq, Greenland, our second stop in that country. We took the Art Walk of Qaqortoq (Man and Stone) excursion. The description from Royal Caribbean was "Find beauty and art all around the city of Qaqortoq, as you walk with your guide viewing the Stone & Man art collection by Aka Høegh and other Nordic artists. Walk from the pier and through the city, viewing all the beautiful artifacts made by artists from Qaqortoq. Learn about the cultural project created by Aka Høegh, "Stone & Man," which began with 18 Nordic artists transforming hard granite into 24 works of art, and now includes 31 works around the city." Beautiful morning as we visited this Southern Greenland city of just over 3000 residents. From the Royal Caribbean description, "With 3,229 inhabitants, Qaqortoq is a large town for Greenlandic standards. Stroll around the historical buildings in this colorful colonial town, formerly known as Julianeha. Cruise to Greenland to admire the open-air sculpture gallery Stone and Man, and check out the spouting whale fountain." On board the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas for a grand 14 day cruise to Greenland (September 14th through 28th, 2023). The cruise embarks from Cape Liberty (Bayonne, NJ) with an actual stop in Manhattan (a delay leaving NYC caused by Hurricane Lee); Nuuk, Qaqortoq & Nanortalik in Greenland; St.John's, Newfoundland before heading back to New York City. It was a grand adventure!
