Black-Tailed Prairie Dogs in Boulder, Colorado - June 3rd, 2023
OK...I know that people do not love prairie dogs as neighbors, but call me a fan. When my son asked me what I wanted to see in Colorado, I said prairie dogs! So here are a bunch of these members of the squirrel family. These are from a few locations, but the vast majority are from the grassy area between our hotel (Courtyard by Marriott Boulder - 4710 Pearl E Cir, Boulder, CO 80301) and the Foothills Parkway. I noticed from Google Earth/Maps that it appears that there were some prairie dog burrows and sure enough, there were! They normally are not out during the rain, but there were some breaks in the weather and we were able to get some pictures. Squirrel Tourism is alive and well! Visiting Rocky Mountain National Park and Boulder, Colorado with my son for a few days. What an amazing place. Pictures from June 3rd, 2023.
