Pictures of the cool black-crowned night-heron who live and nest in White Point Garden at the tip of the Battery in Charleston, South Carolina. I was walking in the morning and was very surprised to see this cool birds that I had only seen a few times before. There must have been dozens at the park. I went there looking for squirrels - but these amazing birds upstaged the squirrels for sure. Took these pictures on morning walks on Monday May 22nd and Tuesday May 23rd, 2023. On board the Celebrity Summit for the Ten Night Bermuda & Charleston, SC Cruise (May 15 through May 25, 2023). The cruise embarks from Cape Liberty (Bayonne, NJ) with an additional stop at Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
