Navesink Twin Lights (Highlands, New Jersey) - August 5, 2014
I grew up in New Jersey, but never remember visiting the cool Navesink Twin Lights in the Atlantic Highlands near Sandy Hook. I probably drove past them hundreds of times. These lights were built in 1862 and look like a fortress - or maybe a prison. I think these are the old twin lights in the country. They are different than range lights that have to work in sync for the ships to find a channel. Visiting these lights was a real treat and we visited on Tuesday August 5, 2014.
