Light It Up (Sunset Matchstick)

...taken on New Year's Day 2017

 

 

Hi guys!

 

Took this on the 1st day of the new year : )

I was trying to capture the sunset through some branches and zoomed in a bit too far... but I liked what I saw through the display... so I clicked a few times and kept this one : )

 

The tip of the silhouetted branch reminds me of a matchstick... and that bit of shadowing directly below (the tip) looks as if someone has struck the matchstick in slow-motion and the fire is about to light up!

(that's my take on it anyhow) ; )

 

This one has been cropped a bit, but otherwise just SOOC.

I didn't get to shoot much on New Year's Day but I'll have another look through my 2017-01-01 folder and see if anything else stands out : )
