Big Rock (moss & misty sky reflections)
05:05 in the morning... more 'Beauty in the City' series
Hello my friends!
I think this is the fastest I've ever uploaded another photo after my previous one : D
Trying to catch up while I have some extra time at the moment : )
I did go out shooting today... but this pic is actually from last July.
As you can see, my focus was on the 'Big Rock' originally... then I decided to pan over & add some of the cityscape, which showed a bit of mist over that morning water.
This worked out nicely, as I ended up catching some sky reflections as well : )
Something I love about this time of year is the bright green moss that shows up on the rocks & wood.
Looks so vibrant & beautiful against many of the other earth tones : )
Both the shoreline & big rock slope toward the sea in this area... and they can give you a sense of unbalanced-ness when photographing here.
Especially good to remember when shooting so close to the water, as the mossy rocks are extremely slippery!
(( trust me, I know from experience ))
...blah, blah, blah more:
In my first attempt at this shot, I had left my large shoulder bag on one of the smaller rocks (sitting next to the big rock)
and so I had to go back and remove the bag.
Since I didn't use a tripod and captured the first attempt free-handed, I tried composing it exactly the same way again.
I didn't succeed, but I did like the way this 2nd shot turned out anyhow.
This is definitely not my usual type of composition... as one side is extremely busy & condensed, while the other is wide open.
But I loved the contrast I saw afterward... the huge difference between 'up-close nature' & 'distant cityscape'.
So this is the one I'm going with today : )
p.s. This was another very early morning shot where I probably left my house around 03:00 in the morning (night) to get there and setup for some predawn shots... and stuck around for the pretty sunrise as well : )
I do enjoy it!
I hope you guys find something interesting or enjoyable here...
Appreciate your support as always my friends : )
Have a very wonderful day! ☺☺☺
