Tay Bridge
As seen from a side street in the west of Dundee. Beside the bridge are the remains of the original crossing which collapsed in a storm on the 28th December 1879. A passenger train fell into the estuary killing all on board. The locomotive was however retrieved and restored, serving for another 45 years but nicknamed 'The Diver' by crew.
William McGonagall, widely regarded as the worlds worst poet, wrote this poem to commemorate the disaster.
