Dr. Mirza Musayev, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Fruit Crops. For more than 20 years, he has been studying the genetic resources of local varieties and the cultivated wild relatives of fruit crops. The primary focus of his research is the study, inventory, collection, description of characteristics, estimation of economic parameters and the creation of an ex-situ collection of the genetic resources of local varieties (grapes, pomegranate, walnuts, peaches, apricots, olive oil, etc.) and their wild relatives of fruit crops (wild - grapes, sea buckthorn, pistachio, pomegranate, fig, pear, quince, dogwood, almonds, walnuts, etc.).
