Carter Lane in the City of London at night. It runs almost parallel to Ludgate Hill. One of the more established places on the lane was the 'Carter Lane Barbers', alas no more. But they were famous for their nuggets of 'wisdom' they scrawled on their windows and offering free beer with your haircut.
