More Last Days Of The HSTs...

EMR will be getting rid of it's HSTs on the Midland Mainline at the May timetable changeover. Though the only HSTs they have left are ex LNER ones running in ex Virgin East Coast/LNER colours anyway. I missed out on the retirement of the EMR branded ones over lockdown. But once these are gone, HSTs will no longer run out of the capital and will move even further up the 'endangered species' list of decent traction that is fast disappearing. Where once the HST ruled, so the Japanese Plastic of the IET/IEP will take it's place.

The MML is not all that close to me, the closest being here at Hendon where we see 43 251 leading on the curve. But it's reachable by bike (my preferred mode of transport these days) after a good hard ride. So on good days I make the effort to get shots of the two afternoon EMR HST diagrams around the London end of the route while I can. It helps keep me fit if nothing else.
