vintage autumn

Taking a day away from vacation photos to show off my newest toy! My Grandma gave me this camera the other day, bought by my Grandfather in 1958. This Kodak Retina Reflex looks like it was just taken out of the box! The only problem is that in 1980 my uncle was using it and forgot he'd set it down on the roof of his car until he drove away and heard it fall. So, while it still looks in mint condition, the shutter is broken. I found a working model on ebay and am hoping I'll be able to swap some parts to get this one clicking again. I never met my Grandfather, he died at just 48, but I've looked through hundreds of beautiful photos he took with this camera. I never really intended to shoot film, but the idea of seeing the world through the same lens he did has got me hooked. We'll see how this goes. HBW
