On January 30, 2023, President Joe Biden appeared in Baltimore MD to discuss a new tunnel project for Amtrak’s busy Northeast Corridor, which will replace an ancient and outdated tunnel. Amtrak sent one of their new Siemens ALC-42 diesels, 317, along with ACS-64 610 and three Amfleet cars (82627, 82576 and 82807) to be a backdrop for the President. Two days later, this equipment, along with another new ALC-42 (319), sits alongside the Northeast Corridor as Amtrak Acela Express 2159 (Boston MA to Washington DC), led by Acela Power Cars 2017 (with 2036 on the rear) flies by.
