SP 565 - Los Angeles CA - 04/16/50

Southern Pacific 0-6-0T 565 (class S-5) was the shop switcher assigned to the General Shops in Los Angeles, California, for many years. Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1903 as SP 0-6-0 1109, this engine was later rebuilt to a tank engine and renumbered in August 1939. This locomotive continued to switch "The Shops" until it was "vacated" in April of 1956 - and finally scrapped in June 1956. (E. W.
