WAITING IN THE SHADOWS
Thought I would go for three in a row as I really am very fond of mushrooms, and besides they are all different.
Our front lawn has proved to be quite a fertile growing area for shrooms because its shaded for most of the day with some big trees for them to hide under.
Actually the shaggy ink caps pop up everywhere but I found this little one hiding underneath the privet bush which required some acrobatics from me in order to photograph it with the sun behind it.
Sadly this variety don't last very long, two days at the most before the outer skin curls up and starts dripping ink. I was reading that you can actually use their ink for writing. You just have to boil it with some cloves to fix it.
Not that I am going to try it!!!
I am still more than a little bemused over my last photo getting nearly 70,00 views. There is nothing in my stats to indicate why this happened so it will remain a source of mystery to me!
