Gotham City's 200th Anniversary Parade

Now here's a set I _finally_ finished, Gotham City's 200th Anniversary aka Joker's Parade from epic 1989 Batman movie by Tim Burton. A movie, I still consider to be "the" Batman movie.

Few words about the set: Ever since I build Joker's cake car and the clown balloon (3 years ago!), I've been thinking about creating the whole scene. I spent quite a while drafting what Burton's Gotham might look like, already building some of the scene before I run into this goldmine. In brief, a couple of guys visited the set which was build for the movie and took a ton of photos. Unfortunately the movie site has been destroyed years ago.

Based on those photos I started drafting the scene, including Brackmann's Delicatessen and Arnee's Bar not to mention the Monarch Theatre of course. The last one was a pain, I think I build it 3 times using different techniques to create the curved wall.

I made the buildings a bit "chubby" to fit the Lego style, also the street was originally longer, but I had to cut 2 x 16 studs so that I'd have some chances of storing this set somewhere. I also build a third balloon, the five-tentacled octopus, but descided not to use that one.

Sorry about the dust :(

p.s. There are 6 named people from the movie in the set :) I might be difficult to spot them from this photo, but I'll post more.

EDIT: More photos can be found in the album
