Meg's shoe was eaten by an escalator

Meg almost had her foot ripped in half when she was wearing Crocs on an escalator this weekend. She was tapping her feet on the side of the escalator and the Croc gots caught between the wall and the stair. It chewed up the shoe and and ripped it down the middle. Meg was screaming bloody murder when Elizabeth swooped her up and took her down the stairs. I yanked the shoe out of the escalator and after seeing the shoe thought that her foot was ripped in half. We got lucky. She walked away with a little bruise but from what the security guard said a lot of kids have had their ankles broken.

 

All this reminds me of a scene from Mallrats with this line from Broedy,

"Listen, not a year goes by, not a year, that I don't hear about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily been avoided had some parent - I don't care which one - but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator."

 

Parents teach you kids respect for the escalator!
