Giuseppi Logan
I met Giusseppi this morning in New York's Penn Station. I stopped to grab a bagel and noticed him enjoying a hot dog and reading the paper. I asked if the case he had with him was for a sax and he lit up and told me that he played alto, tenor and bass saxophone as well as clarinet, flute and piano. He said that he had been away from New York and the music scene for 30 years but he was back and making a name for himself again. He wrote down his name and told me to search for him on Google and YouTube.
So now that I'm home and had a chance to look him up it seems he has had quite a history. After cutting a couple of promising albums in the mid sixties he simply disappeared and was even presumed dead by the jazz community. He showed up in New York this year and it seems he is making a comeback. You can check him out on Sunday nights at the Bowery Bar in NYC.
Giuseppi if you read this I would like to thank you for taking the time to talk with me and I wish you the best of luck!
