Post Office 01880 (Wakefield, Massachusetts)

Built in 1936, this Classical Revival post office was designed by Edward M. Bridge. It features two marble reliefs on its exterior by artist Fortunato Tarquinia. The pieces depict Benjamin Franklin and George Washington.

 

The edifice was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. It also contributes to Wakefield's Common District, which was listed in 1990.
