Champaign County Courthouse (Urbana, Ohio)
Built in 1956, this Mid-century modern courthouse was designed by Philip T. Partridge and stands to the northwest of the intersection of Court and North Main street. It replaced the county's previous 1882 courthouse, destroyed by a fire on this site in 1948. From 1948 until this facility was opened, Champaign County courts were temporarily held in the 1927 house at 1052 South Main Street (now a dental office).
Urbana, Ohio is a quaint western Buckeye town located to the northeast of Dayton and to the west-northwest of Columbus.
The name combination of the town of Urbana serving as the seat of Champaign County is mirrored in Illinois. The Illinois locations were named for the Ohio seat and county.
